Job Summary: The Test Equipment Engineer is a key member of a cross-disciplinary team driving the design, development and testing, and integration of aircraft high-lift actuation and flight control components and systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans and procedures to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams—including design, systems, and manufacturing engineering—you will analyze test data, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of test methods and product quality. Essential Job Functions: • Create and implement Acceptance Test Procedures for products based on product requirements and customer specifications • Provide technical expertise to cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with aerospace standards defined in RTCA DO-160 and DO-178C. • Drive innovation and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver high-performance systems and components that meet safety, regulatory, and customer-critical requirements. • Assist in estimating resources required to complete projects including labor, materials, necessary skills and duration. Provide testability input to new product designs and guidance in the completion of qualification programs to ensure that goals and objectives are met. • Develop test plans, write acceptance and qualification test procedures, conduct tests and generate test reports. • Design and document both manual and automated test equipment to support engineering development and production (manufacturing) for new and existing programs. • Provide guidance on system electrical design and software development to multidisciplinary teams. • Oversee testing, simulation, and validation processes to ensure systems meet safety, performance, and reliability standards. • Ensures work complies with company policies and processes. • Other duties may be as assigned.

Required Competencies: Education/Experience: • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering. • Minimum of 10 years' experience in aerospace and test engineering. • This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with DOORS management tool • Manual and automated test equipment development/programming experience with National Instruments LabVIEW is required. • Experience with National Instruments Test Stand • Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD) is required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Must be a self-directed individual requiring minimal supervision. • Must be experienced in developing test procedures and performing qualification testing to commercial and military specifications such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810 etc. to support new products in development. • Experienced with environmental testing (altitude, moisture, temperature, shock, vibration, EMI etc.) and highly accelerated life testing (HALT). Must be able to work independently with common hand tools and bench top instruments. • Experienced in electrical and mechanical test setups and test equipment • Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems. Use of software to control data acquisition system. Must have the ability to communicate technical information, whether written or verbal to other functional departments throughout the organization. Includes creation and participation of group presentations. • Experience with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. • Strong project management and organization skills. • Timeliness of estimates and reports for engineering projects. • Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation. • Leadership skills with strong customer presence. • Physically build prototype hardware for test and evaluation. • Must have the ability to function in a fast-paced environment while performing multiple tasks. • Participation in lean and safety activities for the site. Au sein de la Direction Technique Matériaux de Friction de la Division Roues & Freins de Safran Landing Systems, site de production de Villeurbanne, vous aurez pour missions principales de : • Contribuer aux déroulements des essais réalisés aux différentes échelles de la pyramide d'essais (subscale à échelle 1). Cela ira de la mise au point / validation de nouveaux protocoles d'essais aux post traitements des données. De plus, une amélioration des montages mécaniques et instrumentations pourront être amener à évoluer dans le cadre de ce poste. • Réaliser des activités de caractérisation des produits pour supporter les programmes en service, en développement, la production et les projets R & T • Contribuer à la mise en place d'une base de données d'essais en arrivant à accompagner le changement. • Faire le lien entre les essais et les caractéristiques matériaux • Support les activités de techniques : analyse des essais tribologique en suivi qualité & R&D Activités de Support Technique • Contribuer aux enquêtes (type 8D) relatives à des problèmes de performance de freinage en fonction des sollicitations

The R&D Engineer at Safran Test Cells is responsible for leading the planning and execution of research and development projects focused on innovative technologies, new product development, and continuous improvement of existing products. This role manages projects from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, project objectives, budgets, and schedules. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams across aerodynamics, acoustics, mechanical, electrical, software, and controls engineering, the R&D Engineer drives innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, leading development and testing efforts, and translating research into practical solutions. The role also collaborates extensively with external partners, including university, research laboratories, Safran Aero Boosters (SAB), and other Safran companies, to advance research initiatives, share technical expertise, and accelerate technology development. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with project leadership experience and a hands-on approach to delivering results in a fast-paced engineering environment.
